MINDFULNESS FOR FLUTE PLAYERS - 27th August 2022

Brittens Music School is pleased to announce the introduction of Instrument-based Mindfulness as part of this summer’s Music School programme 2022.

The first of these introductory sessions will be designed for flautists and focus on breathing, posture and tone.

Please note that this is not a technical or performance focused session. The intention is to create a sense of calmness and grounding that can be found through mindfulness techniques as applied when playing a flute.

The Session is available on Saturday 27th August 2022 11.00am - 12.00pm in the Music School (above Brittens Music) on Grove Hill Road, Tunbridge Wells and will be limited to 6 people per class so early booking is strongly recommended.

Please be aware that we will be moving around and sometimes lying on the floor (if you are able) so consider suitable clothing.

The session will cost £12.50 per person.

All of our summer school courses are open to all and we welcome both our existing students, previous students and new enquiries to apply to the sessions.

CELLO ENSEMBLE EVENT - 27th August 2022

Brittens Music School is pleased to be able to offer a Cello Ensemble Event as part of this summer’s Music School programme, 2022

The Cello Ensemble Event is an opportunity to bring together a group of cello players to take part in a scratch group performance.

This session offers players with a range of abilities the chance to work together in the production of a group performance piece whilst having the opportunity to develop their own playing under the direction of Brittens Music School resident cello teacher.

The Cello Ensemble Event is on Saturday 27th August 2022 13.30am - 15.30pm in the Music School (above Brittens Music) on Grove Hill Road, Tunbridge Wells and will be limited to 8 people so early booking is strongly recommended.

The session will cost £25 per person.

MUSIC THEORY (Grade 5) PREPARATION COURSE - 22nd to 25th August (4 days)

Brittens Music School is pleased to announce the return of its Music Theory (Grade 5) intensive preparation course as part of this summer’s Music School programme 2022.

The course will be run by qualified music teachers from Brittens Music School and will cover the syllabus and exam preparation with quizzes, practical examples and plenty of time to ask questions. The final day will finish with a practice exam. It is aimed specifically at students who have some understanding of music theory and are working towards grade 5 and above for instrumental grades. (Students taking an instrumental grade at 5 or above are required to have passed the grade 5 theory exam first.)
